Dear Mr. Guld-Davis!
I would like to apologize for off-topic in advance but I am strongly convinced that you should be aware of this matter as it concerns a branch of British educational organization.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Belarus SOL Centre (Minsk) has recently fired the teacher Marjana Hruzdzilovic for political reasons. She has only expressed her views about some facts of modern Belarus life (namely the Freedom Day which is celebrated on the 25th of March) and she was unhappy to tell it in the presence of a daughter of a Lukasenka's secret police colonel. She was fired the next day, contrary to any legal standards.
The decision of the Belarus SOL Centre (Minsk) to fire Marjana Hruzdzilovic is an ugly disrespect of basic human rights. This is very similar to the proceedings of Soviet and Fascist authorities. It is a shame the facts like this happen in the XXI century Europe, and in an international SOL Centre.
The objective of this post is just to draw your attention to this ugly fact as I perfectly understand that the diplomatic code of ethics prevents you from intervening into this matter directly. However, I am strongly convinced that you should be aware of such facts as it hits reputation of a British organization.
